  • Year 4

    Dear parent/carer,

Welcome to Year 4! We are all excited to be starting a new school year and welcoming your child to his or her new class. Here is some information to help them settle in and make sure they are ready to learn.

    · Adults in our class: Mrs Northey (class teacher)

    · PE days: Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday will be their swimming day - please make sure your child brings their kit to school each week (they will be getting changed in school just before their PE lesson).

    · Daily Reading: Reading books and brainboxes have been sent home. It is expected that all children read each day at home and fill in their brainboxes using their sentence stems. Parents/carers please sign your child’s brainbox when you have read with them.

    · Homework: Maths homework will be set on MyMaths. It will be set on a Friday and due to be completed by the following Wednesday. All login details will be in your child’s brainbox. Please also focus on reading at home, spellings and learning times-tables for the year 4 Times table check.

    · Curriculum Lessons: Half term curriculum overviews are available to view online.

    · Medical: If your child requires any medication in school, such as an inhaler, please make sure it is in school. If they have any medication that is new, you will need to fill in a form at the school office.

    · Attendance: We are all so excited to be back for a new school year and it is crucial that your child is in school every day to ensure they do not miss important, exciting learning. Please also make sure that your child is in class for 8.50am and is collected promptly at 3.20pm, unless they are attending a club.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child better, so please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mrs Northey
